ตัวแทนอุทยานธรณีขอนแก่นได้ร่วมลงพื้นที่ติดตามช้างป่า 2 ตัว(สีดอหูพับและพลายงาจิ๋ว)
ที่ข้ามเขามาจากฝั่งอำเภอสีชมพูเมื่อประมาณ 7 วันที่แล้วจนถึงปัจจุบัน โดยได้ติดตามไปกับเจ้าหน้าที่ชุดผลักดันน้องช้างของอุทยานแห่งชาติภูเวียง หน่วยไฟป่าภูเวียง หัวหน้าสถานีวิจัยสัตว์ป่าภูหลวง โดยใช้เวลาช่วงเย็นของทุกวันในการติดตามพฤติกรรมน้อง และให้ข้อแนะนำกับชาวบ้านในพื้นที่เกี่ยวกับข้อควรระวังและข้อความปฏิบัติต่างๆเมื่อมีช้างป่าเข้าพื้นที่ เพื่อความปลอดภัยของชาวบ้านและน้องช้างเอง
Representatives from Khon Kaen Geopark joined the field operation to track two wild elephants (Hupap and Nga-jiew) that crossed over from Si Chomphu District about seven days ago. They have been tracking them with the team from Phu Wiang National Park, the Phu Wiang Forest Fire Unit, and the Head of Phu Luang Wildlife Research Station. They spend the evenings each day observing the elephants’ behavior and advising local villagers on precautions and guidelines to ensure the safety of both the villagers and the elephants when wild elephants enter the area.
